Indigenous activists linguists awarded queenship for Aboriginal language, ‘wonder’, a form of slang, in an award ceremony.

Ngogal-Ngong and Ngoua-wala Aboriginal groups also received medals, including the first for the “wonder”, or form of the language spoken by some Aboriginal groups.

The award took place at the National Council of Aboriginal People on Thursday.

It is the highest award Ngong-Ngong and Ngoua-wala receive each year.

The US also announced plans to strike Syria, Afghanistan and Libya in a joint bombing mission against ISIS, which controls territories in both Iraq and Syria.

But the US air force said in its latest joint operation that they are targeting ISIS’s leadership group to give the US a better chance of winning the war against ISIS.

At a press conference with other world leaders, US vice-president Joe Biden said: “The only alternative is ISIS’s return… The only alternative is ISIS losing more ground.”

Meanwhile, France has backed a proposal by Australia to establish a taskforce to find safe havens for Syrians and Iraqis fleeing the violence.

French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said there had been “no real-time” progress on the French plan and he called on the French government “not to give into political pressure”.

France will now begin preparing to establish an Australian command and co-ordination centre at its embassy in Canberra, Mr Fabius told a conference on foreign affairs in Paris on Sunday.

Australian and French officers will be taking part in an Australian training exercise that will take place on the French side of the border, while French forces are also preparing a facility in northern Mali, which might be able to house Australian and French advisers, he said.

“As well as the taskforce in Iraq, this is a number of other operations that we are looking at to determine what the next steps are that we can take to establish safe havens within Australia or between Australia and France,” Mr Fabius said.
